The Marphat script is a syllabic or semi-syllabic writing system which was used throughout the Marphat Empire and their trade partners in the Triangle Sea, particularly the Rausin and TODO. It is one of the first writing systems, having descended from a simpler ideographic form. It was used to write the Marphat languages.

Notes

  • first something like oracle bone script / linear b ideograms, some writing likely names
  • long vowels written as CV-V
  • gemination written as Ci-CV
  • CVC syllables written as CVCV with a copy vowel
  • /h/ not written
  • later marphat / non-mountain marphat has semi-syllabary properties? starts distinguishing coda maybe...
