The Dzamang peoples comprise the many tribes descending from the ancient Dzasa Langa polity settled on the Ba-Dzasa lake in western Huo. The Ba-Dzasa lake (known by many different names in the various Dzamang languages) is the epicenter of all the Dzamang cultures. The Tsongormang people, who inhabit the lake region currently, hold much prestige among the tribes due to them being in possession of important cultural artifacts. The Dzamang cultural sphere spans from the islands off the central-west Huo coast to central Huo.
Dzamang societies are collectively centered around women, as they are clan leaders and control affairs regarding trade and religion. Each tribe is under the governance of a respective council of clan leaders (kamargi/kamarji/etc.), the head of which is (usually) dually a chosen clan leader and her husband, who represents the warriors of the tribe.
